The Union's are out of touch with the current economic paradigm.
Obama settled his debt with them, via the bailouts, which is basically what
the Unions wanted. Only problem is, the Unions are not viable in the current
economic paradigm. Plus, judging by what I see in the economy going forward,
Unions will continue to have a dimishing role as well.
Companies don't want them, local governments don't want them, and increasing
numbers of people don't want to join them due to the economic forces et al.

And now they are finding out that their man in gov't Obama is going to cost
them a bit more than they expected with the universal healthscare burden.
The Union lobby sounds like a real gem to me.

Looking at this situation from the outside, Obama has played the Unions like a fiddle,
and they are going by the wayside. Unions failed to see their landscape changing
for decades, failed to judiciously wield their once powerful sway and lobby the key
changes in the government tide that affects middle class employent and the US
economy. They failed to get the picture that Obama's agenda moves the US closer
to a welfare state, which does nothing to help Unions and of course it's paid for by
the middle class(Union folk).
They failed to see that Insurance monies for political support trump Union monies
for political support, now and forever more.

Obama was their last and best chance to help muster some kind of comeback,
and they got played.

It all comes down to worrying about yourself. I don't care what happens at Joe's shop across town. Just like I don't care what my neighbors do. As long as the checks clear on the 10th and 25th and my family is taken care of that's all I worry about. It's funny how ate up some people and groups are about what others do. No one in my union is a "Lower Paid Member." So I guess this doesn't apply to me or my union. If you're only making $8 to $10 an hour you got bigger problems than a union. I'd look for a career in a different line of work. Of course I also believe that only skilled, specialized, and licensed professions should be able to form unions in the first place. We don't need a lunch lady union, or a semstress union. All those do is cheapen the cause of the legitimate unions.

You should record this and then play it back to yourself so you can hear how stupid and self important you sound.

I on the other hand enjoy excellent pay, excellent insurance, and an excellent retirement package. All without paying a dime to union parasites.

I used to have decent health insurance. Now, my premiums will be going up 2 or 3x with
universal healthscare, because someone has to subsidize the parasite class

and just wait until people begin to see the quality level of gov't care. I believe even the parasite
class will be pushing back when they see the quality that is being paid for them.
