I bet that it's 1000 wrecks caused by stupid, inattentive or indecisive driving to every street racing wreck.

Not exactly groundbreaking. Far less people street race than have a cell phone.

Stupid and indecisive belong in their own category. No need to lump that in with talking on cell phones.


But while on the subject, let's outlaw car stereos, passengers, and all objects in the car. To be clear, I don't disagree with you. Many people flat out lack the brain cells to do two things at once. But the argument he is trying to make is stupid. In some places, cell phones are already illegal when driving. Which is pretty ignorant. And since that is his agenda, we need to get rid of the rest of the distractions too. You know, since we are legislating to the lowest common denominator and all.


I drive 40k+/yr, about 70+% of that is spent on the phone. It's been that way for a long time now. Not a single wreck, and haven't even had so much as a close call. Because I'm able to do more than one thing at a time, and I'm aware of my surroundings at all times.

If your racing in a high traffic area or where the road is fucked up or down main street just because some dumb ass in a beamer or honda revved his motor beside you your a dumb ass!

Yeah it is hit and miss for me. Sometimes I will mess with the stereo (eye level almost) and find myself drifting into the other lane by the time I look up...not very safe and I can guarantee you that the way cars are built these days, I could hit someone head on doing 25mph and still cause a big wreck, because I don’t know how fast they were going either...

I dont think I am an idiot, just a human taking responsability. I have become aware of the situtation and have been making conscious efforts to use the controls on the steering wheel instead
