Point is, as shown by low pay, a good, bad, middleoftheroadwhatever waitress isn't exactly something overly valued by any company because they are easy to come across.

My wife served and later bartended while working on her translator cert., I know well what you make. And no, it's not more than I make.

The fact remains, it's a very disposable occupation. The only thing making a good server any harder to come by is the fact that the people that can actually succeed at life are out doing other work that pays more...or working toward it. Those people typically know the difference between "your" and "you're".

So you work with Nate and Aaron... You claim to make $10/hr + tips as a server... I actually know what servers hourly average is for Clifford/820 along with Hulen, Granbury, Cleburne, Weatherford, Brownwood, Stephenville, and Mineral Wells... What do all of these stores have in common? They are all in the same "area" aren't they... If you truly make $10/hr as a server(non corporate trainer) then I need keep you a secret or every AllStar Chilihead that I have employed for me would jump ship and transfer to Clifford/820... I kinda felt sorry for you for how ignorant you were making yourself look... Now I find it humerous... That figure does include hourly pay+tips and is averaged including bartenders... It's a very achievable figure but must also consider some servers are also only working 10-15 hours a week...

Those figures are fairly accurate for the most part... They don't include bonus opportunities or benefits... Brinker had amazing benefits until 2011 came around and ObamaCare screwed that up... But hey I can still eat at all Chilis for FREE so I save on groceries...

I hope you don't think I was trying to knock the job itself. I just think Chili's could offer a little more guaranteed compensation since the Metroplex is a higher end market for casual style restaurants. As for bonuses, I really despise any company that throws out bonuses and add it to the wage to try and make look like you're going to get "xx" amount per year. The bonus is just that, a bonus, not to be considered in part of the total year's wage.

No hard feelings here... I am fine making what I do... Do I wish I made more well yeah... I've been in the restaurant industry since I was old enough to start working... I 100% agree about the bonus being just that... I have been smart enough to not put myself in the position to rely on my bonus... Brinker International has sold off On The Border and Macaroni Grill and have started reinvesting in its Chilis and Maggionos units... Good restaurant upgrades and pay increases have been promised... Hopefully that will make us more competitive in the current market...
