I did consider a GTI, but the power difference stock got me. I wanted to burn around with stock power for a while and was afraid the GTI would get boring. Plus insurance on the GTI was more for some reason.

There are only two published instances of an AWD Mazdaspeed3 that I've found. Some guy did his own, and DG Motorsports built one. It requires tons of custom fabrication and a different gas tank, but it's doable.

Yeah I hear you on the power difference, the thing that got me with it is the instant torque it has, that is fun, but yeah top end sucks on them.
