I think the new ones might whoop a 4 banger Genesis due to weight.

I drove the Genesis coupe 4 banger and wasn't one bit impressed, drove a new GTI and was impressed.

But those coupes are gorgeous, I know that much.

Also, I haven't checked the Genesis aftermarket in a while, but the GTI can be made pretty quick for stupid cheap compared to the Genesis.

Yeah, that was a deciding factor as well, the Coupe didn't have much in the way of cheap upgrades at the time.

A simple tune on a GTI will yield 300lbs of torque, which is what I call fun.

Then they just go up from there, problem is it's FWD

Same pros and cons for my speed3 If I wanted a GTI And could wait, I would wait for the Golf R that's supposed to be coming. Same GTI drivetrain, but with all-wheel-drive.

I still dig those Speed 3's but I just couldn't get over the front smilie face, the only issue.

I know it doesn't make much sense but from what I have read the R isn't worth the price increase, there a are a couple of articles out there comparing it to the GTI and was rather surprising.

On a different note, I wish VW would bump up the power a bit more from the factory. I heard rumors they will be doing it on the next gen but probably won't be much.

That's why I bought a first gen speed3. Plus, with a little money, and a lot of effort, you can convert it to AWD using a cx7 drivetrain

Oh nice, now that would be sweet being AWD.

Did you consider a GTI before you bought it?

Don't count me out yet! PowerAxel makes a tune for my car that yields 45hp/75 tq. It's a 21psi tune running 93 octane. As for stock/stock, my Gen has already beat an '11 GTI auto. All I have is a CAI/MBC.

Well shit, was the race from a dig?

Actually how much more boost are you running over stock?

The auto on those GTI's is fucking fantastic.

I did consider a GTI, but the power difference stock got me. I wanted to burn around with stock power for a while and was afraid the GTI would get boring. Plus insurance on the GTI was more for some reason.

There are only two published instances of an AWD Mazdaspeed3 that I've found. Some guy did his own, and DG Motorsports built one. It requires tons of custom fabrication and a different gas tank, but it's doable.
