He called the ex..she is getting paid. It appears to be a clerical error. After a visit from my old friend that is a paralegal and a "bribe" with some Whataburger french fries and a few beers.. she says the paper received looks fishy because it doesn't have the official seal and letterhead. She is going to be passing it up to her boss on Monday to get it sorted out.




It's crazy how this shit gets so screwed up..it happens alot from what she said. One wrong number and you are hosed.

All of this is true. However, it would help the situation if men weren't raped in court every day for outrageous amounts of money in the name of child support. There are men out there who pay $800 a month for what is supposed to be half of what it costs to support a child. That is absurd by any measure and the children suffer for it because some men just say fuck it and move to another state or disappear.

100% agree. And they can come back every 2 years to rape you for more. Everytime I pick my son up from his mommy he looks like he is in clothes from Goodwill, but mommy is leasing a new SUV, and living in a nice house.

Why are they counting you as being in arrears? Were the garnished payments not quite adding up to the payment schedule (as in, child support is taken out of your check on the 1st and the 15th, where the support order has it taken out bi-weekly?)

Second, have you accessed your online account on child support interactive with your case ID and PIN and looked at the calculation of the discrepancy?

Fuck, my ex is almost 6 months (legitimately) in arrears on our son, in an enforced case, and they haven't gone after him for shit. I don't think they start screwing with you unless your ex is instigating it.

The payments coming out of my check is the amount stated in the withholding court order... Its accurate...

Payroll has verified that the checks are being sent correctly....

Children don't have standards of living beyond a few small things and low cost items. They don't own homes, don't own cars, don't have expenses beyond their basic needs. The only things I can think of that may be a big ticket item for children would be playing in select league sports or attending a private school. Medical care could be another issue in limited cases. Even in those extreme cases, in theory the father is only supposed to be paying for half of the costs.

I know someone who pays $1500 a month for two children. One 12 year old and another 5 year old. This person is not wealthy, makes six figures in a blue collar job thanks to overtime. What this means is that, in theory, raising those two kids costs $3000 a month in total. Absurd.

This coming from a guy who paid 20% of my check to child support for over a year without a court order because it was the right thing to do, not because some "robe" told him to do it....

Also, If he gets on child support intersctive, it will tell him if he's under an enforced order or not. If he's not actually under an enforced order (meaning that it was court ordered in the divorce papers and the ex didn't seek payment through a case with the DA), they don't keep track of arrears. He may get some insight as to whether the papers are legit or not through child support interactive. If he's in arrears, it will show on his account.

Children DO have standards of living. Example: Let's say a man and a woman are married. They have two kids. He makes 300k, she is a stay at home mom, they live in Trophy Club. The kids are involved in sports, school stuff, etc etc. Mom and Dad divorce. Are you teling me that it is ok that he pays the minimum to "raise a child"? I vehemently disagree with you.

A better question is this: When you say that raising a kid only costs a certain amount...and it surely isn't 1500/month...what are you basing your figures on? I guarantee you that it costs more to raise a child living in Hollywood than it does for one living in Compton (insert your own bourgeousie vs. proletariat cities). If you still disagree based on basic needs (i.e. food, water, clothing from Goodwill) then that sux for the kid. In your stance it doesn't matter what situation the child came from...he gets a certain amount from the father. So a father making 100k should pay the same as one making 25k? Sounds fair to me. Fuck the kids..give em bread and water and dirty used clothes.

My ex owes about $400 in back child support but when I called the AG, they told me that they will send him a letter, but will not garnish it unless it is greater than his monthly payment.
