Why would you not be more scared flying low? That's the most dangerous time...

When you are low you are going to be landing or already in approach. If you are 30,000 feet in the air and you start bouncing, dipping, and swaying you are a long ways from landing.

when you are low, you are close to the ground... if you hit the ground the wrong way, bad stuff happens.
