Amazing take-offs and landings right now at DFW Airport

I have never been in really bad turbulance (IMO) but the worst if I had to rate it was flying into Denver flying in an MD-80. We probably circled the airport 2-3 times and the entire time we did so we were all over the place, sideways, up and down, violent jerks downwards then a wobble left and right. It didn't really bother me since we were fairly low but you can tell some people were uneasy about it.
MD-80s aren't that big so you feel every little jerk compared to the larger planes. Flying on a 747 though is a different story. That was the smoothest flight by far, taking off, landing, and the entire 16 hour trip both ways.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

I saw an MD 80 miss the approach a little after 5, it came down @ valley view/beltline and went full throttle, pulled up the landing gears and pulled up and around... A little before that another MD80 on take off did a steep bank to the side, I think I saw the entire top of the plane! I was on the ground and I felt my ass pucker!!!!

Speaking of WY though, I got offered a sales engineering job up there. The VP of that area said, Wyoming and Montana would be your territory and you could live anywhere you want in those two states." Thanks but no thanks. I'm not quite ready for a full Wyoming winter.
The landing just now wasnt horrible. Typical yaw and bouncing for a windy day, but a lot more roll than I've felt in a long time.

Rock Springs you have a pretty steep descent coming over the mountains, and there's ALWAYS a mean cross wind... always fun in a twin prop!
