We actually do this every July 4th at my buddies house....his place backs up to Lake Lewisville and his backyard runs down a big grassy hill to the water. He always gets a big industrial roll of thick plastic...I think it's like 8'x80' (I'll call him to see exactly and what mil and where he gets it). We stake the leading edge and sides with plastic stakes and position it going down towards the water....setup sweep sprinklers on both sides, and the best thing we've found is actually Dawn dishwashing liquid....we usually buy about 5 of the big ones from Sam's. It's actually faster/funner going down on a tube too....get someone to hold it in place and do a running dive onto the tube. Be careful who holds it for you though....one year I ended up over shooting the tube and the ensuing slide ended going off the end in the fetal position.....a day later revealed a couple broken ribs.

Backyard is long, mild incline, figure a sprinting start would be plenty. We've got sprinklers, but I've got no clue how to program them.
Kind of don't want it ending up in the pool, not sure how random soaps would effect the pump or water.
