Al, I understand where your coming from on this. I do. But damn, who teaches kids about firearm safety with loaded weapons?

Rule 1: the gun us always loaded.
Rule 2: never point it at anything you're not willing to kill

Booze or not, and abuse allegations aside, the guy's a fucking shithead.

His kid took a bullet to the head because he's fucking stupid. End of story.

Holy shit, can a guy just as a question about what went on? I'm not saying the guy wasn't a shithead, all I'm asking was if the guy was actually drunk. Point being, if he was, then there might be a reason for acting like a moron by mishandling guns. If not then he may be a god damn psychopath who did it intentionally. And of course there may be some area in between.

Same goes for the abuse really.

I suppose what you could say I am getting at is, was the guy reckless or is he evil?

They added more to the story, I'm leaning toward drunk and just plain stupid:

DENTON, Texas - A Denton County man who shot and killed his 10-year-old daughter on Christmas Eve in 2009 testified on Thursday that he does not remember pulling the trigger.

Duke Watrous said in a Denton court that he had been drinking beer and vodka that day before giving his children what he called a gun safety lesson inside their Oak Point home.

Video of the incident, which was captured on a camera Watrous had installed in the home, shows the 37-year-old stumbling while handling a shotgun and handgun near his daughter, and son.

The footage shows the handgun firing, shooting Ashley Watrous in the face and killing the child.

Duke Watrous said despite having seen the video, he does not recall the shooting.

"I heard myself giving them a lesson on how to defend themselves and live in a world with bad guys," Watrous testified.

Watrous pleaded guilty to manslaughter and faces a sentence of probation to 20 years in prison.

Why the fuck would you point a gun at anyone unless you were planning to shoot them. Drunk or not, that is insane. He should have turned the gun on himself shortly thereafter.

Bullshit. He doesn't recall. The I-was-too-drunk-to-remember defense. That judge should never have accepted a guilty plea from this bastard until he admitted what he did and acknowledged his responsibility for that child's death.

What DA allows a plea bargain on this kind of case. Tell the defense attorney to fuck himself, we're going to trial. Then we're gonna sit back and laugh while the jury dry-fucks him.

My only hope he gets put in general population when he goes to prison.

I've always said that suicide is a chickenshit move, but I'll have to agree this is probably one of the only times that it would be the best option....however, I can confidently say that I would never pull a fucktard move such as this moron so really I wouldn't know anyway. That being said tho...yeah....agree....he should've ate the business end of the shotgun or the .44 either one....not so much to save his own sorrow, but to remove that level stupidity from the gene pool.

...a fucking .44 too! can you imagine what that probably did to the poor little girl's head?! At least she probably (hopefully) never felt it.

                    There are accidents...

example...doing the speed limit or under, cars parked oddly and kid runs out in front of you. (you get my point)

...if you're drag racing and run over a child....different story.

My life changed drastically when I had kids. I remember being 16 and some woman chasing me down in her car and socking me one with the father rolling up behind her. (for hauling ass through her neighborhood...which she was screaming while being pissed) I now understand her anger.

Back then, you realized you were an asshole and just got out of dodge. These days it's a lawsuit.

Anyway, I became a little more careful now that I have kids and hope to avoid any -avoidable- accidents.

Poor little girl was scared the whole time and then BANG, nightmare come true. For little kids, I hope there is something in the after life.

Who gives a fuck? Does shooting his daughter in the fucking face substantiate abuse enough for you dumbshit?

If not, please feel free to walk(knuckledrag?) in front of my barrel.

                          Valid point.

I took your comment to be in line with the typical FTP "we need the other side of the story" shit that happens here.

It's a bullshit situation, yes. The kid should still be alive. But, you're right, we should find out if the guy was actually drunk or if he was sober yet psychopathic.

Too bad someone didn't shoot you in the fucking face. I guess it isn't too late and we can all hope, huh dumbshit?

Stupid fucker. It's dipshits like this that give the gun control nazi the tools they need to get tougher laws to pass.

The house is still up for rent/sale.
what road is it? I live in Oak Point too and heard about it but wasn't sure where it was
