all credibility is gone with the mention of Optimator...

tastes like something dipped out of the incoming side of a water treatment plant

That's crazy talk. Although I do prefer the Oktoberfest.

The real problem I have, is that I usually can't remember 95% of the beers I really like unless I'm looking at a menu with them on it. I guess I could stop drinking so much when I'm ordering them and my memory would improve, but that sort of defeats the entire purpose. Stupid Ouroboros.

ever done a blind taste test with Optimator and Steel Reserve?

only thing I really like from Spaten is the standard Lager.

We just have different palates... most "Oktoberfest" type beers just don't do it for me... They have interesting flavors, but I like something with a little bit of crisp. Too much malt, and I'm out

If you like beer. REALLY like beer and want to discover new beers AND you live near Fort Worth. You should give "The Saucer" a try. Just about any beer you could possible want.
(No, I don't have a plate, nor will I try to get one. )

Great craft beer and great people since 1995

Ft. Worth location. (I didn't realize they were so wide spread.)

While that may be true for a thermodynamics professor drinking at home, or an extreme beer enthusiast, all beer at bars is stored at the same temperature in theory. I say in theory, because there is some variation depending on how warm the keg was when put in the cooler, etc. All beer is stored in the same cooler, an while each cooler does have an adjustable thermostat, standard practice is for beer to be held between 35-38 degrees. And most beer/bar oriented places use the aid of a Chillrite system (or equivalent( to ensure all beer leaves the tap at 32 degrees.

First plate took 7 months. I've been working on the second for about 8 years. lol Slowed way down when the Lincoln Square location I lived next to closed down. Was just up there last night, actually. Half Acre Hall.

Of those you mentioned, I've only had maredsous. Same thing though. It tastes great, but it's too heavy on my stomach. I can only get one down then have to switch to something else.

I like all of the above, try sam smith oatmeal stout or nut brown ale. My ex said it best " 6 bud lights makes you want to pee, 3 spaten optimators and you have to shit"
