My current job has us doing 8 hour days + mandatory 1hr lunch (9 hr day), although the way it actually works out ends up being 7:30a-4p so really only 8.5hr days.
They have now decided to give us the option to do 4 10hr days + mandatory 1hr lunch (thus 11hr work day) and they have stated that we will be required to stay the full 6a-5p shift (full 11hr).
Would you take the 4x10's? If I decide to do so I wont have the option to return to "normal" schedule until mid-August.
It is really tempting since my commute is 35-45mins each way (25miles) so the gas savings would be nice, but I already go crazy sitting inside as long as I do, adding 1.5hr on the front and 1hr on the end (plus the additional traffic caused by leaving at 5p vs 4p).
I think I am going to try it but figured I'd see if anyone has any input. Thanks.
