"I understand that this little boy--now age 11, was on the Today Show this morning in NYC, interviewed by Matt Lauer. http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/421914...-today_people/
Quick synopsis: Colton Burpo of Imperial, Nebraska, age 4, undergoes an emergency appendectomy, and while being operated on, he leaves his body and visits Heaven, sitting on Jesus' lap. He is able to see his parents in other rooms in the hospital, each in a separate room. While in Heaven, he sees and talks with people he met there whom he had never met in life, sharing events that happened before he was born, including a meeting with his older sister that his mother had miscarried at 2 months---Colton did not know about this child. He later tells his parents about details and descriptions of heaven that match the Bible exactly, although he had not yet learned to read, and the information had not been presented to him before.
This is an easy to read book, a pretty fast read, but difficult to put down. I'm suggesting that it's best for you to read this book, as I'm not going to go over every detail. A review on the back of the book by Ron Hall, coauthor of 'Same Kind of Different As Me', reads: "A beautifully written glimpse into heaven that will encourage those who doubt and thrill those who believe." Personally, as a Believer in Jesus Christ, I'll add a twist to that... the book encouraged me."
Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.
"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; Its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery" ... Winston Churchill

He is who i am named after. Thats my last grandparent, and it sucks.
god bless.
We shared the same birthday. I just lost my last grandparent a little over a year ago, sucks man. RIP
It sounds like your Grandfather sounds like he lead a FANTASTIC and very fulfilled life. He had what sounds like a great family, served his country in quite possibly THE most decisive war ever, was an entrepreneur, had MANY grandchildren, and obviously MANY friends, AND lived to a VERY ripe old age. While my prayers are with you for his loss, my hopes are that you rejoice in his life and do not get hung up on his passing.
(I lost my Grandfather of similar heritage last year, a friend of mine said basically the same to me. It helped. I hope the same for you.)
