This is bullshit. The greedy ass-holes just want us to pay more because their archaic, busted-ass infrastructure needs an update. Any other business with financials in the black would just chalk it up to a necessary cost, whereas AT&T is making the consumer pay for it.

I don't have AT&T internet, but I do have an AT&T iPhone and cellular plan. As if their ridiculous usage charges for the phone plans weren't already cause, this news makes me want to stop giving them my hard earned money.

All of these tech companies are moving in the opposite direction of the normal trends of technological advancements. I thought the days of "pay-per-use" shit like AOL hours were gone. Apparently not.

On a side note, I wish my neighborhood had FiOS.

ESPN360 and MLB.tv burn up more bandwidth than Netflix, they just aren't used as much. Xbox live and the Playstation Network also offer loads of online content that can burn up 150 gigs pretty easily in a month.

AT&T is stuck in the past. They should be embracing people that use their service and figure out ways to profit from the content consumed instead of starting arbitrary caps. Their networks have plenty of capacity, it doesn't take any more data to watch Fox HD through Uverse than it does to stream the same show through Netflix. The only difference is that they don't generate any revenue if you aren't watching it on their system. It's obvious that people want on demand programming, build a competitive system and offer it to them.

www.MyUsage.att.com is only for u-verse customers? I'm trying to create an account but it wont let me because I'm not a u-verse... Pretty much doesn't matter, I'm most likely going to just drop them all together. Whoever works for AT&T here nothing against you, but AT&T blows so much cock it's depressing.

Consumers need to step and and take a stand against it. Call and cancel your service, tell them where you are going, and make sure they know WHY you're leaving. The only way to get through to corporations like this is to hit them in the pocket book.

But, everyone these days has a me first and me only attitude, and nobody will take a stand. Boycotts are a thing of the past.

Yeah, I know a lot of people in that situation. It seems like AT&T targeted the areas where FiOS isn't, because they didn't want to get run out of town. People in apartments and such, don't have much of a choice. FiOS runs to some apartments, but not many. Then of course all the outer lying areas, where FiOS hasn't been run yet.
