Well, for me, it was something I always wanted to do and I thought it was my best way to make a decent contribution to society all while making a living... then I realized it sucked. Now I make a shitload more than I ever would have as an LEO and found real joy having a job that let's me post a bunch of stupid shit on the internet all day long.

Im one of the few on here who in my old age has a lot of respect for the police. Even more after reading this story....
Again, no way in the world I would want to deal with the shit they do every day
My brother was a sheriff out in Georgia (Hancock county) and he has many similar stories. I may get upset about an officer or two, but you wont see me talking badly about the group as a whole, because I've heard the stories about him walking up on crashes caused by a drunk driver, and seeing children the same age as his smeared across the pavement. Ive got mad respect for dealing with some of the things you do, and keeping out of the crazy house.
Sorry that you have to see these types of things but remember that there are a lot of people who truly appreciate that you are there for us. Thank you!
