im finding a bunch on craigslist but seems like the all are high mileage 150k to 250k.. and the years range from 98 to 02... and what do you guys think about the accords. just need something dependable with good gas mileage to carry my son around in...

Honestly dude, you have $2500, you aren't going to find something with less than 150K for that. The accord from 1993 and up is a really good car. The problem is that they are usually owned by some dipshit that doesn't take care of them. Here is a list of the cars that I would recommend:

Toyota Corolla/Camry
Honda Civic/Accord
Pontiac Grand Am/Grand Prix
Pontiac Sunfire/Chevy Cavalier
Nissan Altima

Of them, I would take a Cavalier/Sunfire or a Grand Am. You wont have to deal with timing belt swaps like you will with the imports, they are comfortable, drive nice, and get good gas mileage. Plus the engines and transmissions are bullet proof.
