Are you referring to the kid?

I guess when he brings a gun to school in a few years and really threatens the class we can have this conversation again about what action is necessary.
You don't get it, do ya? When there is no punishment for too long, then you do shit like spray a kid with pepper spray, you create resentment. If you start showing the kid what discipline is all about in moderation (like what should have been done from the start), then they're less likely to go full tilt FTP/ Fuck the World.

Pepper spray is NOT something that should ever be used on an 8 year old. The kid is 8. Go grab the little shit and restrain him. I'm amazed that none of the teachers grabbed the little shit and restrained him.

Think about it. It's like a dog shitting on the carpet. Mom never does anything about it until one day she comes in and hits the dog with a baseball bat. Do you think that the dog will properly understand what's going on?

Use your head bro, seriously. You were a kid once, think back.

I am referring back. We will have to agree to disagree here, but this is the third time it has happened and you know what they say about the third time.... If MY kid was in that class and some little shit was threatening her I couldn't give a rats ass if they tased the little shit. Just my opinion.

Honestly though...PEPPER SPRAY? The kid had a stick. The stick didn't have steel spikes on the end of it... it wasn't connected to anything electrical or a sharp end on it. Hell even if he was throwing scissors he couldn't have caused injury to any of those officers. That kid was seriously outmanned and could have been handled a lot better than just spraying his ass LOL

Did he deserve to get sprayed? Hell yes! LOL

I think there is still hope for that boy, but he'd need to be in a much more structured and strict environment. We all know that's not gonna happen.

That kid is definitely going to go full tilt boogie against the world when it comes to law enforcement.

I can see why the teachers didn't restrain him, but the police most certainly could have successfully pulled that off without causing any injury to themselves or the boy.

Not that this is directed towards you but I bet you anything if someone posted a thread that said, some kid picked up a stick in my drive way and was threatening my kid so I sprayed his ass with pepper spray, this would be a different story. That vision is already blurred because it happened with a LEO and everyones thought process is skewed at that point.

Everyone is sooooo protective of what is theirs on this forum but the moment it involves a LEO it is forbidden. Just sayin'.

I agree LEO's are held to a higher standard of behavior and expectations than average citizens are... but shouldn't they be? They're not your average Joe just doing their best to be rid of a problematic child in their driveway... they're professionally trained and well paid to be a little better prepared to handle situations, than average Joe Schmo citizen is

I'd be willing to bet that the response to that wouldn't be what you expect. Go post it on a different forum and see what you get.

Depends who you ask and what argument we are in. Of course that will get flip flopped also. This topic is just like religion and politics, it is beating a dead horse.

My response to someone posting something like that would be "Are you a fucking idiot? A kid gets on your property and the only way you felt you could handle the situation was with pepper spray?"

how pissed off would you guys be at the cop if he did try to subdue the little fucker and accidentally hurt him?

you would have those parents screaming he should have never touched that kid

                          it is a lose-lose situation

except for the cop that got to blast that little shit with mace, that my friend is WINNING

Exactly. Pepper spray is not a "get off of my lawn", and it's not a "Hey Timmy, quit being a little shit." tool.

I bet most people would think that you're insane for spraying an 8 year old with pepper spray, barring the most extreme circumstances.

Are you kidding? In this heavy litigation society you expect the teachers to touch the kid? LOL. We've taken so much power out of adult action now its sickening. The old adage "it takes a village to raise a child" is so far gone now because the village has been kneecapped by CPS, lawyers, and liberal do gooders that would rather "be nice" and "not offend" a child that needs a good ol' spanking.

Edit - look at that, Adam and I partially agree on said topic..
Well I am asking YOU, and we're not in argument, but discussion over an 8 year old getting pepper sprayed

So, should the LEO's (by your opinion) have been better prepared to handle a situation with a kid like this? The easiest thing to do, of course seems to be, just spray his little ass. Mama always said doing what's easiest isn't always what's best.
