BTW, your bill amounts are going to be based on a number of things. First, the efficiency of the house and AC system. Second, you electricity rate. Third, how you manage your usage. All three of those are likely to be bigger factors in your electricity bills than square footage alone.

Also, keep in mind that electricity rates are at a low right now. Don't be surprised if a year from now they are $0.05 per kWh more expensive. Not that i am making that prediction, but the prices can become very volatile.

3400 sq ft, highest I have seen during the summer was 600, usually 200-300 cheaper though, really depends on how you run things, also that's with all gas appliances. During the winter I've also seen some 200-300 dollar gas bills. That was a real shocker at first.

Our 2500' house was built in '99 and seems to be pretty energy efficient. It was built by a custom home builder not a toss 'em up as cheap as they can house though.

In the summer our electric bills range in the mid $150-200 set on 78*. BUT when I am home and I turn on the A/C in the garage and work out there on the car the bill goes up $100 a month easily. Hoperully when I get the attic above the garage insulated it will drop some. Also keep in mind that $100 extra is also because I am running 13 4' double T8 light sets in there too.

That reminds me I need to replace some weatherstripping at the back door.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I have a 3100 sq ft 2-story home built 2001. Worse I've seen my electric bill was around $590. But since then I've upgraded the roof and added more vents my bill hoovers around $375-$425 per month in hottest summer months. Thats keeping the temp around 78 degrees in the day, 73 degrees at night. Also really depends on other appliances, my washer and dryer is really old, needing to upgraded and I have two frigerators. Its a craps shoot..

Never been over $175, though we hardly ever go upstairs so it's normally set pretty high.

Mines 4800 with 3 units but pretty well insulated and radiant barrier and all that good stuff. It was built in'96 so a little over 10 yrs old but our worst bills are 300-350....I'm pretty cheap though and don't run the A/C down too low.

Also have a large saltwater aquarium that runs probably 30-40 of that bill in the summer

I'm sold on the fact that a well built house and insulation works. We have a lot of trees and stuff too that shade but the house is built pretty well and I think thats the most important factor
