I don't even own a black suit. I've got a navy suit with thin stripes, and a brown suit with thin stripes. I always wear a suit and tie to an interview, but I'm in sales so it's expected to put your best foot forward. I wouldn't wear anything less than a sport coat, slacks, and dress shirt with tie. Black is reserved for more formal settings, but there is no problem with wearing a black suit to an interview IMO. It's not like wearing a black suit will eliminate his chances. And as someone else mentioned, make sure you have nice shoes. It doesn't matter if you're in a $99 special, or a $3000 Armani suit. Bad shoes will fuck either one up equally.

Nordstrom's (except the one at Stonebriar) has a full time shoe shine guy pretty much all working hours. It's 5 minutes and $2.50 a pair (I just usually give him a $5) and they come out sparkling. Do this every couple of weeks and it's amazing what 5 year old shoes will still look like.
Don't go cheap on shoes, it's noticed, I assure you.

FYI, an off the rack $2000 Armani suit will look worse than a tailored $200 Stafford suit from JCP.

You can definitely see the quality difference from the mens wearhouse to those side shops off the highway. Those little place are junk. I must have gone to 3-4 of those and you can see the quality difference like night and day.Originally posted by Cmarsh93zDon't Fuck with DFWmustangs...the most powerfull gang I have ever been a member of.

Mike - Don't bother with Joseph A Bank. They start at $800 IIRC, and go up from there. Great suits from what I can tell, but you're going to pay for them, and if you don't wear them that much, I don't blame you for not wanting to spend that.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

If you want bad ass shoes for cheap, check out the Saks 5th off in Grapevine Mills mall. They usually have some really nice ones for 50-60% off. I have two pairs of Hugo Boss shoes that I have picked up there so far, both around $350 a pair new and I got them for something like $150.
The other thing is a watch. Get a nice one to wear. I'm not a materialistic person at all and love Wal-mart and cheap shit. But other people notice this stuff. And one of the best ways to sell people on anything, yourself included, is to appear to NOT need what you are asking for.Originally posted by racrguyWhat's your beef with NPR, because their listeners are typically more informed than others?Originally posted by racrguyVoting is a constitutional right, overthrowing the government isn't.
