A gray or navy suit would be the most appropriate. (black suits should only be worn for formal events or dinner). White shirt with a colored, subtle patterned tie. If you don't have a suit, gray slacks, white shirt and tie will have to do. I would really recommend a suit though. (Please get wool not polyester blend lol). With ties if it is the same pattern as the suit or sport coat it needs to be a different scale. For a beginner, probably just best to wear a different pattern ex: glen plaid suit/striped tie etc....

Just say no to black shirt/ties together.

Dress professional. Wear a tasteful skirt, don't show too much cleavage and leave the stilettos at home.

I disagree on the black suit, just don't wear a red power tie.

It must've been Tuesday. He was wearing his cornflower-blue tie.

business casual.....unless youre interviewing for an executive position, i see no reason to wear a suit.....unless you really think itll help your chances.....oh, and a pointy hat.
                    .....bro....

You can disagree all you want, its a fact. Granted most men think mens wearhouse makes a good suit so keep on doing what you do.

words of advice i have lived by : you cant ever overdress a job interview in a suit, but you sure can underdress one.

Wear a suit. It may not help per se, but it wont hurt when competing against every other slob coming in dressed like shit to an interview.
