Saw a "real" race car today...

I was coming back from the gym on W. Broad and ended up at several red lights in a row lined up against a white/creme Dodge Magnum. He had to be the first off the line every time, and it sounded like he had some mods done to the car.

At one light, he barked off the line and at the next light, I pulled up along side and asked "is that a race car?" It took him a second, but he said "It's a 4,200 lb race car!".

OMFG.

So, if anyone sees a car like this, don't run it. It must be fast.

This thread title made me think of the other day when I was driving down Dove in Westlake. I passed that MALL of a house on Dove and the owner was pulling out of his drive way in a clean ass black Maserati. It was an weird feeling. Like I just saw Batman leaving his batcave....

Totally pointless post, but I saw a black Lambo of some sort coming off of 35E and gettin' on 121 toll toward Frisco/Colony. I guess I've never driven next to one, but thing sure sounded fast. I usually dont appreciate cars like that as they are not real to me. If there's no way in hell I ever get to own something like that, its not real interesting to me. On another poinltess side note. I've seen quite a few high end cars like that ie: AMG Mercedes and a Skyline taking that exact same route. I have no idea where these people/cars are coming from. Its been about the last month I've been seeing these type of cars. I know.. I know...great story!

All of the big money is moving north, to get some land away from the city, or they have a McMansion in Frisco and the like.
