I wouldn't worry too much about it. We had a guy use our company fuel card to fill up peoples cars for cash to the tune of $3000 in one weekend. Since we didn't have any video of him doing it the cops could careless.

There's always room to care even less!

Civil matter. Sounds like the Officer was just confirming it. He may be off for a couple of days now. I bet they lied and said you had never used it.

Before our phone conversation got cut-off he said "Wait, let me get this straight...she's allowed you to use the debit card before on several occassions? to which I replied "Of course, she handed it to me at least once a week for months, to grab her a pack of smokes/beer while I was on my way to a store or gas station". The same goes for me... I've given her permission an uncountable amount of times to use my debit card as well.

I know that she and her husband both file single/head of household and didn't claim the money I paid for child care as additional income last year so I've notified the IRS accordingly.

I know that she has Texas food stamps and sold the $600 in monthly services lone star card for a lower in full cash amount, so I have reported that accordingly.

I know that Dan's (the BIL) mother and two brothers are all facing charges for the sale of prescription drugs on the street and that my niece is living in that two bedroom house with those 5 adults who stay heavily medicated on their scores of oxycontin and liquor. So, I have reported that accordingly as well.
Bam! End of story. No offense.

You can choose your friends but not your family. I would you run very far away from sister and never again buy into that BS!

I've cut all ties and will not be exchanging as much as a glance from this point forward. She moved back to Minnesota since she can get more government assistance there than Texas. Good riddance I say

Unfortunately, sometimes the most toxic people in your life can be the people you are related to who will abuse the relationship with the thinking it will always be allowed since they are related.

I don't buy into that nonsense. Toxic people, related or not, get the boot.

At a certain point, I'd welcome the chance to go in front of a judge. Especially if I could prove my side.

And then lets see - here's my countersuit for all expenses, distress, and heres another one for harrassment. Might as well come back and seek repayment of all living expenses, room and board and other outstanding debts.

Still want to go in front of a judge and make it all official? SWEET - lets go.

He said he spoke to my sister about an hour ago and will be closing out their complaint against me with no further action. He was very polite and neutral about the whole thing and just indicated that she came across to him much less than honestly as she changed her story 3 times about how the money supposedly came up missing to begin with and how I had her PIN if she had never allowed me to use it before. I mentioned that they're simply out of money and trying to make a few quick dollars anyway possible.

Now I need to see what I can do about taking her to small claims court for all the money I'm out on her, her husband and her child.
