So I lost a bet with the wife, and I have to take her to some sushi place down off Oak Lawn. I've never been to a sushi bar before, what do you recommend I eat there tonight? (those who are sushi experts)

Dragon rolls, volcano rolls, spider rolls are hard to go wrong with. I don't do sashimi though.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Was never a big sushi fan until I moved to SF. The shit out here is amazing. We load up on Nigiri style tuna/tuna belly and salmon/salmon belly. A salmon avocado roll or a dragon roll is a pretty safe bet.Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

California and philidelphia rolls are safe intros to aushi.
Stay the fuck away from urchin, roe or anything with quail egg.
Sushi has alot to do with textures, so some of the things make be a shock to you.
Keep this in mind though. Everything is edible and safe, its not going to hurt you.
I personally love octopus, but it can be chewy and tough.
Go easy on the wasabi, but everyone starts out with too much
And if you do sake, get it warm.
