i have heard some V6's with exhaust that sounded decent when at idle or low rpms but once they rev up they sound like crap

Question: I had a 96 V6 Firebird awhile back... I bought it with exhaust alreat on it and it didn't sound bad, was also pretty loud.
I'd set off car alarms in parking garages.... Is there something on a Firebird that allows them to sound good with dual exhaust added that a Stang doesn't have?

Or is my judgment of sounding good just not good bc I don't know wtf sounds good or not?

V6 F-bodies definitely sound better than the mustangs. Ironically, the V8 stangs even with a shitload less power sound better than the V8 F-bodies IMO, until the engines in the F-bodies get an aftermarket cam at least.

I was wrong, but thats a ass rapin' price. You could by some wheels and tires off CL for less than that!

The true dual exhaust from the link I posted or what the guy on here was asking for his 03 Cobra rims?

Well my firebird had dual exhaust on it... Again I was 16 and don't know much about cars. Idk if it was true dual or what. Deff was loud and sounded good.

you should have bought a GT. yours looks ok but you are asking a lot from it that it just cant deliver. And your right. Your ideal exhaust tone is wrong. Really loud does not always sound best. Just lower it, change the wheels, or trad it in.

I would loved to get a GT or Cobra... I'm 23 and a broke student. This was the first car I've ever financed and don't have any credit. I couldn't get financed for anything too pricey.
Plus my insurance for the V6 is 270/month... Imagine with a Cobra

270 a month for ins??? holy fuck you are getting raped or must have had a bunch of wrecks/tickets on your driving record

oh and i'm pretty sure your v6 firebird was just like most firebirds with a y pipe and then it splits into 2 after the axle

holly crap thats a lot for insurance. So with your car payment, you are paying close to or more than $500 a month to drive a V-6? wow.
