I sat at the $5 buy in hold-em table for 5 hours and left with 1200.00 in my pocket lol. Lost on the blackjack though. Just depends what game your better at.
        See you later...

^ just for the record, that table game is NOT Texas Hold'em....it's like playing Carribean Stud or something.... does it have the same name? Yes.

I was actually thinking about heading to Shreveport or maybe even New Orleans this weekend. I'm off all next week, feel the need for a road trip.

I don't think I've ever played a "sit-n-go" at a casino. I think you've been playing online too much. Most tables are going to be a cash game, not a tournament. They do have tournaments, but I don't believe they have single table tournaments.

I ended up losing about $140 at poker and made $200 at blackjack. I still prefer Shreveport though cause I like to spend one evening doing nothing but drinking for free and playing slots with the gf.
i think he just does not know the terminology...

a cash game is just that, a cash game. each chip is worth it's face value in real money. you buy a chip stack and cash out whenever you want. what you turn in as far as chips is what you receive as far as cash...

a "sit and go" is a tournament. you buy in for a certain amount and get a chip stack. however, your chip stack will not match the amount you bought in for, i.e. a $100 buy-in tournament usually gets you a stack of $1500 tournament chips. you cannot cash out for the amount of your stack. the players are playing for all the chips and a prize pool is set for the top finishers...

as has been said, i have never seen a single table sit and go at a brick and mortar casino. when they have tournaments there are usually quite a few entries and at least 5 tables in play...

hope this helps with any confusion on the difference between a cash game and a sit and go...

I vote the Horshoe if anybody goes to Shreveport. The El Dorado just isn't the same since they moved the poker room and made it smaller a while back.
