Anyone played Hold'em in the poker room at Winstar? How did you like it? Are they cash sit n go games? More details would be appreciated. I am debating going after work today for a few hours.
Havent played in the poker room but i have played holdem there at a regular table. It was sit and go, so i can imagine that the room would be the same. Be aware if you go during the day, they may not have any tables open for holdem. They normally stick to blackjack because the lack of croud.

Poker room is good to go. Usuallyyou get a free meal (sub and chips) and the tables have a max buy in making it so no one can just bully you. Theres a massage lady walking around and some TVs. It's smoke free and very large so if it's packed your talking a 15-20 min wait max.

1. Yes.
2. It was ok.
3. Yea as far as I remember. I busted out after about 5 hours...
You go in to the building and just keep going right until you hit the poker on the south end. There is a big booth, like a dj, and just tell them you are there for hold'em. They will find you a table and tell you what number it is. If its busy you may have to wait 5 minutes. From what I hear Friday and Saturday nights are the time to go. There are more newbs on those nights. During the week are the people that really know how to play.

Hmmmmm I am thinking about this real hard. I have played a couple dozen house games since my last casino poker room visit about 18 months ago. I am still a holdem newb in the sense that I have only been playing off and on for about 2 years.
I was up there last weekend and managed to put in about 4 hours @ a 1-2NL table. It was alright. I was up and down all day though. I don't think I've ever played a "sit-n-go" at a casino. I think you've been playing online too much. Most tables are going to be a cash game, not a tournament. They do have tournaments, but I don't believe they have single table tournaments.
I ended up losing about $140 at poker and made $200 at blackjack. I still prefer Shreveport though cause I like to spend one evening doing nothing but drinking for free and playing slots with the gf.

Cash game means I can buy in and leave at pretty much any time right?
