hrmmm... the current zr1 has 638 hp and weighs 3340 pounds. the 2013 shelby will not have a new body design(as far as i know) and it currently weighs 3920 pounds

so even if the newer shelby looses a couple hundred pounds it will still be outpowered by near 20 hp and be almost 400pounds heavier

the people that wrote that article are fucking stupied

MSRP on a 2013 GT500 is gonna be $79,000? Aren't the ZR1's $109,000? What is MSRP now on a GT500, under $60,000, right? That's quite a price hike. Like somebody mentioned before, the power is off by about 20hp on the ZR1 as well. Somebody needs to do some more research. This should be referred to the thread about idiot bloggers being considered news sources.

A pullied GT500 can't beat a stock C6 Z06.


A ported blower GT500 (which is what basically the 2013 is) can't beat a cam'd Z06.


So why would anyone think a 2013 GT500 could beat a Zr-1 when it can't handle a stock Z06?

For a GT500 to hang with a modded Z06, it needs a Whipple/KB and even then can only hang in a straight line for one or two pulls before severe heatsoak sets in.

It's not a fair comparison anyways. The Vette is a lightweight sportcars to where the GT500 is a heavy 2+2 car. The only way to compare apple to apples here is the Ford GT to the ZR-1.
