How is it the property owners fault? They didnt ask the thieves to come on private property to steal the truck, much less commit the crime. If someone wants your shit, they're going to get it regardless of how "safe" it is.

I'm sorry, but when there are multiple police reports filed involving crimes on private property, the owner of said property has the responsibility to curve the crime spree. Otherwise, they're just adding to the problem, and could be held liable in a court of law. It's in the property owner's best interest. A lack of action shows they could possibly be an accessory as well.
