Is there anyway to get out of a no registration no inspection ticket ....

I was driving my brothers car and got a ticket for both. I wasn't even aware that they are out ... Anyone had any luck?

On a side note, shouldn't you tell someone that you hand the keys too that they are 6 months out of date?

Cops don't give a fuck who owns the vehicle, they will tell you that "you are responsible" for the car and will write you up. If your brother didn't offer the info, he needs to pay. I sometimes loan my car but I tell them that I have alcohol, guns and shit in my car, they know the risks...

BTW in Plano, if the inspection is out more than 30 to 60 days, you will still have to pay the full amount on the out of date inspection, not sure about Dallas or other municipalities...

Its not that we "don't give a fuck", its how the law is written. The driver is in care/custody/control of the vehicle, so statutorily, the citations go to the driver.

The insp depending on where you are you can get off with a simple fee. My wife got a ticket two weeks ago for the insp thats been out for six months that I've been telling her about for 6 months. Went and got it inspected for the normal $40 and then had to go to the PD and pay a $23 fee to dismiss the ticket.
