Overtime pay? Scale kicks if you're working 1 job versus working 2. Think about a graph with hours worked on the x-axis and $ on the y-axis and the way the slope of that line looks if you're working 1 job versus 2. I wouldn't work 80 hours a week for $20 an hour, but a lot of people would.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

As was stated it is socialisim. Sam would roll over in his grave if he saw what his dream has become. It was an american business and is now a cult. The brain washing they do is horrid. I gladly spend more money at mom and pop companies over Walmart. I wish my wife would do the same, if she spends any more money there I will own stock.

I'd like to hear about Wal-Mart brainwashing if you have more info on that. You say socialism, industry experts say, best business model in America, perhaps the world. How is it socialism and not a business? They provide a product, people buy the product. Sure, that person could go get the same product from somewhere else...at a higher cost(that makes a lot of sense). They have employees. The pee-ons make pee-on wages, the higher ups make a lot more. That's how it is with literally every major business. How many employees of Microsoft are worth $40 billion dollars? How many of them are close to that?

Feel bad for the mom and pop businesses? Well, perhaps you shouldn't be in an industry where titans have dominated for decades and then bitch about how they get all of the customers.

Wal-mart department managers can clear 75,000. A store manager at that same store would probably clear 125,000.

Not too bad pay for being essentially middle management in the wal-mart behemoth.

After working there for two years, I've got a lot better benefits where I'm at now but I'd be making more money if I had stayed put. I started at 8.50 and left at two years at 12.75. I did know people making a few dollars less with a few more years than I had tho.

Single digit year over year decline in domestic store sales and big increases in sales in foreign stores. It has been dead in the water for a long time. But the P/E ratio keeps right on falling. At what point will it start to matter, who the hell knows? If the stock price stays the same it starts to become a good buy to the value investors who jump on it if they follow the gospelof Graham. I thought that had finally happened a while back when it jumped to $55.

We're talking about the largest retailer in the US that runs other companies out of business. When you worked at the car dealership, you were full time, right? And it was more than 10 dollars an hour probably.

Hey, if you or anyone else want to go there, that's fine. I'm not going there. They don't value their own people and I try to avoid companies like that.

I'd be wiling to bet it's over $100k.

Meh, managers wouldn't be in it anyways.

And its those little things that pay off big for managers/bosses. I do not understand why it is so fucking hard for bosses to understand that. Good on him for doing that for you guys.
