How much would you pay for this truck?

With the rust problems, I'd pass. Especially if it was bad enough to replace sheet metal. Every nut and bolt on that truck could be an accident waiting to happen. No thanks. Ask for undercarriage pics.

It's the same thing as my Bronco and the Bronco rides about the same with the 4" lift and 33's as it did with stock height and 31's. Though I got slightly better tires.. Mine is a '90 from CA and has no rust anywhere though it is a bit beat up.

BTW, I will never understand why people with these trucks don't adjust their bumper

That's cool to know that it didn't ride any worse w/ the 4 in lift, my fullsize jimmy rode like shit after the lift, although it was a 6 inch, but had good tires. Bumper was one of the first things I noticed too!

I get what you're saying, but I don't know how familiar you are w/ these truck... I would be willing to bet that 95% of them that see the outside regularly had the lips of the wheel wells rust... I've seen trucks from all over that are not known for rust to possess the same shit. He just took the time to fix it.

I called him and talked to him today, and looks like he dropped the buy it now by $500. I have a feeling it's going to sell, just not sure if it will be me or not. I wasn't satisfied w/ my notch I bought off ebay, I'm just super picky.

My truck is a stock 2wd 92F150 with 31's and it rides just fine. Couldn't imagine that one riding any worse.

We both commute for school, but I'm like fuck I can't take this money to the grave. I sold my notch so we could get our house, which was un-necessary this summer. Now we're settled and got our $8k homebuyers back, and I could sell our altima for around $4. Help me come up w/ some ammunition for the fight, expecially you chilli, seeing as you seem reasonable and are married to a chick that seems to enjoy cars.

Well, Leah has a MUCH nicer car than I do, so she has been pretty flexible considering. She understands that I am saving us from paying on another car payment and was understanding that if I can't by a new $30k rig then she will go along with me, within reason, to make the Bronco something I enjoy more. I could easily be paying $500 a month for a newer truck, so I am already "saving" us $6k a year right off the bat.

A truck like that is cool because it is more than just the transportation that your Altima is. It is a hobby. A hobby that keeps you tinkering with it around the garage on weekends (rather than out getting fucked up) and brings you much more satisfaction than something that is just getting you from point A to point B. The more you work on it and take care of it, the more pride you will have in it. On top of that you are less likely to see the depreciation that you would with a newer, used car. If you have kids, or intend to, it is something that you can keep around as a project for them, and potentially a first car.

If a year from now you decide to move on it is likely you will be able to get your money back. Meanwhile the value of that Altima just keeps declining.

Besides, it's always good to have a pick-up around for running to Home Depot on the weekends!

I couldn't agree more. That's the big reason I've kept my 92F150, no car payment and it saves me money for the most part. Yeah it eats gas but it's a hobby.

Dammit...the more I look at the 92-96 f series, the more I like them. Should have kept my 95. Although, it would have in the neighborhood of 700,000 miles based on what it had when I got rid of it.

I actually like the 88-91 front end better myself, but the later style still looks good.

I kind of want an 88-91 f250 extended cab 4x4. They are really growing on me.

Those look dated to me but not yet classic like the pre 87's do.

I'd love to find a clean crew cab powerstroke with low miles, but that'll be a chore.

Those trucks are getting damned rare to find, and especially with the manual transfer case. I've always liked them a lot myself, those were even rare to see when I was working in the dealership back around the time they were new. 95' was a VERY good year to own too, they had the updated radius arm bushing design by then as well as the AC and several other things....if memory serves correctly I think that was also the first year for EEC-V on those trucks. The one bad thing tho...they suck on MPG....and the SWB 4x4's only have one tank too. I had a SWB 5.0 2WD with some 31's on it a couple years ago and it got all of about 12mpg most of the time.

I'm getting a little better than 10 with my Bronco (5.0 / AOD) on 33's. Maybe 11 or 12.
