I'm stuck with Lamar County Coop. Can't change they have a monopoly here and it's annoying. 11.5 cents AND a 'cost recovery fee'

Unfortunately that is becoming the norm now with most places.
Originally posted by GhostTX View PostI was on Reliant before Amigo. Reliant pissed me off during my renew. They offered XX cents on the renewal contract but when I checked online, they had the same contract for 2-3 cents less. I asked if I could get that rate here's how it played out:
"No, that rate is for new customers."
"I'm an existing customer. Shouldn't I get the same deal or better? I've proved my responsibility (to pay) already."
"That's not how the plans work. I suggest you cancel and have your wife apply as a new customer to get that rate. You can't because you're in the system already. We do it all the time."
"Wah...wait? You falsify information to let existing customers come in as new customers for the better rate?? Why don't you just offer me the better rate!?!"
"Because you're not a new customer."
I ain't ever going back.

I did this and they went under....just got sold out to another provider who honored the price. the good news is because they sold out I had the right to cancel so found another company 2 cents cheaper and got to move before my contract was up. I've been using powertochoose for a few years with no problems.

So because they have a rule, and the representative was willing to help you through the loop hole, you hate them?

StarTex x 100
I have had them going on 2 years now and have had zero problems. I am very responsible w/ my bills and pay via online banking, but every now and then I forget to get a bill sent in by the exact date (usually 1-2 days late), so I automatically send in the late fee that they print on the bill "if received after this date XX/XX pay this - $XX.XX) well every time I have done that, they have automatically credited me that fee amount on my next bill. I was in the wrong, I am paying the fee and they are giving it back to me the following month...show me another provider that does that!
