Yeah, you need to get a new contract, 12 cents is way too much to be paying in this market.

Damn I just checked my bill and I'm paying 9.8! Crap OK I need to switch.

I think I'm gonna go - Reliant Energy, they have the best price for fixed, 100% renewable at 8.3 ( 6 month) I've been needing an excuse to switch to 100% renewable.

1.3 cents isn't much on a residential meter.. Maybe $10 - $15 a month. I mean, definitely change it if you aren't under contract, but don't expect to see a huge difference in your bill.

called reliant and that was the biggest waste of time ever and it ate up my entire 30 minute lunch time. They wont even match the price they offer online, over the phone. They said I have to do it online. Of course they wouldnt come close to Amigo's price.

Then I clicked on sign up on Amigo on powertochoose and they didnt offer any 7.9 cent plans! Uggg, Ill just wait till I get off work to start calling some more.

I've been using them per your recommendation and had zero issues. They even went so far as to warn me of a few possible outages (none ever happened), but I thought it was really nice that they were being proactive as opposed to reactive.

I'm watching who you end up with I'm in the same boat. I heard Ambit was good from a friend but have not seen any other reviews.

Going on year 3 with Amigo. Just renewed my 1 yr contract for 8.2 cents.

                Curse you for 7.9! :P

Makes me feel better, I found the 7.9 cents on their site now but they want a deposit so Ill have to wait till payday. Only thing I dont like is they charge to pay online. I dont use credit cards so that kind of puts a hamper on things but its only $2.

Can pay by automatic bank draft too for free, that's what I will do, or send in check for free.

I switched to reliant 2/24 and they matched the lowest rate I was able to find through another provider so I'm at 8.6 per kwh

We have freaking TXU and our bills have some of the KWH usage at 12.5 and some KWH at 14.5. We rent from my wife's great aunt and she does not like changing ( the bill is in her name). I am gonna try my best to get her to let me take it over.

I pay everything online through my bank and have no fees.

Haven't really had any issues. Never called customer service, though. One time, paid late once adding the late fee myself and they credited it on the next bill.

Yeah I have never liked auto sending payments like that. Im thinking about getting a credit card to help my credit score out and may do something like that when I get it.

I called Reliant and what a total PITA. One guy said the lowest they had was 9.7 and he THOUGHT that since I saw 8.5 through reliant online I would have to apply online and he couldnt give it to me over the phone. Then he sent me to another guy who asked for all the same info again and said he couldnt get anywhere near 7.9 cents. Total waste of 30 minute lunch

I was on Reliant before Amigo. Reliant pissed me off during my renew. They offered XX cents on the renewal contract but when I checked online, they had the same contract for 2-3 cents less. I asked if I could get that rate here's how it played out:
"No, that rate is for new customers."
"I'm an existing customer. Shouldn't I get the same deal or better? I've proved my responsibility (to pay) already."
"That's not how the plans work. I suggest you cancel and have your wife apply as a new customer to get that rate. You can't because you're in the system already. We do it all the time."
"Wah...wait? You falsify information to let existing customers come in as new customers for the better rate?? Why don't you just offer me the better rate!?!"
"Because you're not a new customer."

                                I ain't ever going back.
