best oil for a deep fryer??

Bought a little deep fryer for the kitchen to make french fries and what not in easier, what is the best type of oil to use for these??

Ive got a infrared deep fryer. No oil, sure does make it nice..

I generally use canola oil, same smoke point as peanut oil but it's a lot cheaper and supposedly better for you. Especially if allergic to peanuts!
