If you are looking to upgrade to T1i, Target has them on clearance if you can still find one. They were 25% off, then you can get an additional 30% off of that if you buy the display (some displays are behind the glass and no one ever touches them). Thats how I got my D5000 last week. $400 out the door for it.

I believe the T1i was $550 on sale - 30% for a display. They may be cheaper now, they have been on clearance for 2 weeks. Read on slickdeals that they were marked down again, but they are much harder to find now.

If you have a broken canon camera or do like I did and buy a broken one off eBay for $6-7, you can take advantage of the Canon Loyalty program. Just bought a T2i w/ 18-55 kits lens for $550 shipped. They say they're refurbs but a lot of people have reported getting overstock new units. Makes sense since the T3i just launched.

so with all this talk about high end DSLR cameras I'm curious if anyone has any experience with the smaller high end cameras like the S90 or S95?
I want a very capable camera thats small enough to fit in my pocket and from what I've read the S95 is about the best out there. Anyone?

read all over the place that people love the BlackRapid RS7. $60 for a strap sounds crazy to me but this new lens is HEAVY...might have to get one later.

The S90/95 have nothing but good reviews about them from what I've read. It's a point and shoot with some DSLR power behind it.

I never thought about getting an aftermarket neck strap till I was given one as a present, and I love it. If you are going to be shooting for long periods of time I.e. Sporting events, wedding, etc it's really nice to have

Got back from 2 different Targets and no luck. The one that had one that was a display; the manager refused to discount past the $550 price mark!

Try a different time. Different managers will do different things. Have them look up inventory at other stores as well.
