I'd be down to go. I work with the military and all my co workers (and my self) are prior military. It shouldn't be an issue as long as I'm not on travel.

BTW, if anyone travels, that's an easy thing to do if you don't have time to make it the airport otherwise. You will always find service men/women around the area if they are not in the Admirals Club (I think ther still get in free).

I swear I've seen every single AFN commercial 10,000 times but can't think of which one you're talking about.

Ive never gone to the airport to welcome them but on many occasions I have bought their table a meal when they are in uniform. Couple times they were told by the waitress and their thanks were so genuine and their appreciation so true that it brought a tear to my eye. I prefer it though when they don't know and they are just happy to be somewhere that they are appreciated. I was never able to serve and don't have much money but I have great respect for those that do. My best friend was a Marine and to hear some of the stories..... well the soldiers deserve more when they come back.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Thank you for your service.
I've gone out to D/FW several times since I got out, to try to do my part to ensure that nobody has to ever come home to that kind of treatment again."It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

I was at DFW last night for a flight that was delayed twice... I wound up sitting next to an Army E5 at Chili's. We bs'd for about 2 hrs, he was enroute back home from Afghanistan after 9mo.
I bought his dinner and had a great convo. I just wished that people acknowledged the hardships that they go through and it didn't take a tragedy like 9/11 for people to actually appreciate their "National Border Patrol".

My drinking days are few and far between, so it'll be nice to kick back a cold one and make some new friends along the way.
