Spit or swallow? I can't have that stuff land on my shoes.

In all seriousness though, wife and I are headed out there the weekend before we hit cozumel. Virgin had $99 flights out and I figured why not. We are there Saturday and Sunday (flight lands later Friday night)

So in 2 days you can do most of what is mentioned above?

I have been before so I will throw in what I did:
    -Telegraph hill
    -Old fort overlooking Golden Gate
    -China Town (food is delicious)
-Alcatraz (Not going this time, once was enough)

I am interested in sonoma and this light house you are all taking about?

Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair. You're gonna meet some gentle people there.

Sonoma is about 40 minutes north on the other side of the Golden Gate. There's a huge square there with tons of shops, wine shops, cheese shops, bars, restaurants, patios. There's a hotel too, so my wife and I just head up Friday evening, stay at the hotel, get up Saturday and just spend the day on the square, stay at the hotel Saturday. Sonoma is about 20 minutes away from wine country, so it's an easy trip as well.

Point Bonita light house is in the Marin Headlands (the mountains on the other side of the Golden Gate and right north of Sausalito). On the way to Sonoma or Napa, we stop off for an hour or so and drive/walk around Sausalito a bit, drive into the headlands, go walk out on the bridge to the lighthouse. There are seals, sea lions, and the occasional Great White. The other thing we always do for every visitor is Twin Peaks. SF is obviously at sea level, and right in the middle of the city is an approximately 1100 ft peak that has some of the best views I've seen anywhere, period. You can see the Pacific to the west, the bay, Golden Gate, Marin to the north, the city right in front of you and to the east, and south San Francisco to the south. It is foggy up there though, so just see if you can see the gigantic radio tower (the locals call this the fog dipstick, it's right at the top of twin peaks). If you can see it clearly, you know your views will be good.

The trolley cars are now just a tourist money maker, so only ride them if you feel you just want to experience it. Nobody here uses them for actual transportation, they're more $ than cabs.

China town is cool, and a must see, but I would not recommend eating dim sum there (which is what most people want to do). It's a ripoff in China town, if you want real Asian food hit Japan town, or actually our neighborhood on Clement street is called the "New China Town"... food is about 1/3 the price and better imo.

If you find yourself in Russian Hill by Za pizza, you have to try it. Seriously the best pizza I've ever had, without question. A good thing about SF is, the food out here is phenomenal. Chances are you'll get a great meal wherever you decide to go.

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Lol. At the least my 2 years in Austin warmed me up for this place.

Drive across both bridges, because that's a bucket list deal. Enjoy your trip through the city while driving from one to the other. Stop off at Treasure Island while driving the Bay Bridge, it's a military installation now.

Alcatraz is a day trip all by itself, don't waste your time with it if you only have one day.

There is a ton of stuff to see and do in SF. It's one of the best cities I've travelled to. Grab a tourism guide when you get there to find things that interest you.

Spent an hour in downtown San Francisco today actually. Last time I was there though, I checked out the Golden Gate and Telegraph Hill.

                            <---- In LA now.....dammit!
