I say grill outside and screw what they say, but if you're in the mood to grill and don't wanna piss anyone off you could always get a George Foreman Grill. I use mine during the cold part of the year and it cooks a mean steak, among many other things.

I had a hindu explain once that the cow was regarded as "holy" because the incarnation is pretty much one of self-sacrifice to humans. I don't think they have a problem with others eating a cow, they just don't bother cows. Besides, that whole karma thing is scary to them. They don't want to come back as a tapeworm. Or a Pakistani. They'll leave you alone.

I've always had a grill at any apartment complex I've lived in. Everyone else can enjoy the sweet aroma or piss off.
