well fuck, I guess my non-contract plan won't be honored
It should be. I was on a month to month with ATT for a long time after they went to Cingular and back again you just can't get any new phones because they won't renew that contract but they won't force you out of your plan

You have to buy the phones outright anyways on month to month with tmobile. Nothing will change for him more than likely.
They are the same union I am at ATT along with Verizon and Sprint. CWA, communication workers of America. My post was a joke though aimed at the many union haters on here.

Oh, heh. Even corporate store employees are union?

Well that's how it worked for me anyway. They didn't even make cell phones that worked with my sim card anymore. I had so many complimentary anytime minutes added onto my plan from ATT that it was more than the next plan up gave you. I finally decided it was worth it to change when the iPhone 3G was announced. I changed plans and lost about 400 anytime minutes and the rate was still the same. I found a promo code online that gave me 200 additional anytime minutes for free which helps out.

My Verizon phone has as a faster data connection than what AT&T is offering for Uverse in my area and almost double their fastest DSL service. The LTE network is blazing fast if you can get it. 12+ megs both directions with two bars is the average but I've seen 18-20 with 4. The speedtest.net app lies by the way, it'll show 25-30 down and upwards of 40 megs up. I know it's not that fast.
