  • Reminder: Home Air Filters

Don't forget to change them. Can make a huge difference in your electric bills. Just took mine out since November and was caked in dust.

Lola @ 30 days...it depends on the filter. 30 is maybe right for a dirt cheap glass floss

True, I use Filtretes and change them every 90 days or so. Less often in the Spring and Fall when the A/C or heat isn't running.

I dont see how it makes a difference, if its caked in dust after 30 days then obviously its catching the dust. Why would a better filter not get caked in dust also unless it was letting it all through?

I use the allergen Filtretes, and still change them every 30 days, and they are always dirty when I change them. I have a dog though, so in addition to dust/dirt there is pet dander, etc.

Every month here. The wife and kiddo have alergies and changing them out routinely helps out.

word. I have two dogs and my allergies have been screwing with my contacts lately.

I use the filtrete one's as well and when I forget to change mine monthly, I see it in my electric bill. Just because it says it's a 3month filter, doesn't mean it shouldn't be changed out sooner in some cases. Mine takes the 20x25 filter and I HAVE to change mine every 30 days.
