Actually no, I usually only drink on weekends but trying to get brave and goto bars myself but I don't want this lifestyle. But yeah I feel like one going by self,

I did that not too long ago. It was 5:30 or so and I had just gotten done with a long day of tests and whatnot. On the way home I thought that a beer would be fucking great, so I stopped off at the local pub, ordered a beer, and basked in glory of a pint of the finest fermented barley and hops that Belgium has to offer. Drank it, went home, and cooked some dinner.


Didn't feel weird at all, but I imagine that if I had stayed for a few more rounds it would have felt a bit odd.

I'm 33 and this is the first time I have been to one by myself, but yeah I am on number 2 and I'm leaving

I've been to the local hole-in-the-wall a few times to sing karaoke. I've always manages to find a few people to talk to, usually attractive young ladies. Not something I make a habit of, but it doesn't at all feel weird to me.

While sitting there an Australian guy looks over my shoulder and comments on the drawing I'm reviewing. It's for a big, high visibility venture that's getting off the ground globally thanks to my group. Turns out he's handling another, non engineering, part of this thing and he had never seen the actual product in question.

Long story short, I am now going to be the special guest speaker at the worldwide hq tomorrow to an international group from australia, Singapore, etc covering how my group helps enable and support our worldwide oil and gas business.

I would never have talked to this guy if I were with a group of people. Bars by yourself kick ass.

Yeah, in sales alot of my networking is done in bars, though in those instances I'm not necessarily going in alone. On business trips though I usually head down to the hotel bar to see who's down there. I usually stay in pretty nice places so it's nothing like the clientelle that you'll find at a local pub.
