That's just an ignorant statement. Hyundai has stepped up to the plate, and is putting out quality vehicles now. I'm extremely happy with my Genesis. For 40K, you get a car that for equal quality, is twice the price.

I forget about all the ultra ballers and high end rollers here, though.

They really are great cars these days, I wouldn't think twice about driving one if it came down to it. Can't really be surprised that the inbreds on here are hung up on the name, though.

I daily drive a 3.8 coupe and love it! The wife has a 2.0 Turbo Sonata that's bad ass too.

My dad bought a new '10 Genesis V8 with tech package for $37k last year. It is a damn nice ride period. If someone blindfolded you and drove you around in it, you'd swear higher end BMW or Mercedes. The 385hp V8 and ZF six-speed automatic are a bada** combo.

Don't knock them until you at least drive one. Only minor complaint my Dad and I have with it is the somewhat rough ride quality. It's pretty firm.

Betting the 5.0 and 8-speed automatic will make the car even better. Hope Hyundai continues to refine the suspension too.

I've only seen a handful of coupes. Surprisingly, there are a LOT of the sedans rolling around the Highland Park area. Caught me by surprise anyways.

Plenty of wealthy folks are frugal, but there wasn't much to buy before the Genesis that was full-size and not fairly pedestrian. All I can think of is the Toyota Avalon or a Caddy DTS; I'd rather pay double the money for just about anything than drive an Avalon and the DTS isn't well priced or a good vehicle. It's a kind of weird niche that Hyundai has found, but it appears to work pretty well as I've seen plenty of sedans out and about.

Oh I know. Still though, in a land of Lambos, Denalis, Cayennes, etc; it's just odd seeing the Hyundai emblem so often.

No idea, but if the resale on the Genesis is anything like other model Hyundais, it's shit. Which I don't mind, I'd love to pick up a gently used V-8 sedan.
