I don't get how it went down or how they hit the street sweeper hard enough to knock it over unless the street sweeper was turning into Wal-Mart from the other direction and almost made it before they both taged it.

How did the driver of the V6 survive??? Oh that's right...drunk people always walk away! Hope it was worth it!

Quite a battle going on in the comment section of the report.

Your story sounds pretty much exactly what they are reporting happened. It is sad that jackass's like this do this and walk away..

I just found out that I went to highschool with the driver of the GT. He always used to want to drive my car, good thing that never happened.

Woke up this morning and heard the news at 4:30 am, my first thought was that it might have been some of our crew members. This happened so close to 121 (SRT) and we are sweeping at nights several days this month. The Fleet Dept. is usally notified when one of our vehicles is involved in a accident.

Starting in October the NTTA will have a night crew doing roadway routine maintenance. Their schedule is Sunday-Wed. 8:00 pm - 6:00 am.

I really think we'll have a lot of damaged vehicles, and hope nobody gets injured.

I will help clarify. The streetsweeper cleans the walmart parking lot and was heading north taking a left hand turn into walmart. There were 3 workers. One drives, one uses a hand blower and walk the lot, the 3rd empties trash cans. The cars headed southbound. They started racing from a dead stop at the light , headed southbound about 300 yards to where the accident occured. People do not understand the danger ofspeed nbasic physics. I do. I was a passenger in a 1988 5.0 that hit a rock ledge head on going about 60-80. Survived with cuts and bruises. Hit so hard my seatbelt snapped in half right where it crossed the center of my chest. The car was buckled in the rear, the seats collapsed to the floor, oil n tranny fluid was all over us. A mangled hood on the engine block was all that remained on the front. The interior dash was missing every knob n button, gear shift bent in half, steering wheel broke off. We were drunk, young super punks thatlearned our lesson fortunately without killing anyone. Speed kills.
