  • gotta PCS :(

    just got orders saying i gotta PCS to FT. Bliss, Texas. so now the pressure is on and its lookin like im gona be better off drivin the Stang all the way there from FT. Campbell, Kentucky to make my report date in september. only thing i still havent figured out is what wheels i want after i go 5 lug. things that are throwin me off is backspacing, and what width wheels i need front and back. i want a nice deep look to all 4 wheels, and 295's on back and 225's up front. right now it just wouldnt be safe to drive there since it has 165's up front. lookin at weld racing prostar wheels. any suggestions??

        it means the department of the army is moving me from ft. campbell to ft. bliss texas.... and i cant drive there on the wheels i have up front on the stang now, tires being 165's... so, im wanting to find out what wheel sizes i need so i can have 225's up front and 295's in back.. driving on 225's up front would be much safer and just better overall

              thank you, i was thinkin 7 as well, but then again i have been all over Latemodel restoration finding nothin but OEM wheels that have 245's on a 7" wheel. the weld pro star wheels is what i will be getting, so make it 15x7 for 225's and what about backspacing??? and then 15x10 for the 295's right? what about the backspacing for the rear? this is all new to me

                  Well, I dunno Bliss did not seem that bad to me compared to Hood. Problem is the fun part of Bliss is completely off limits these days.

                    yes, i did lol. i put in a 4187 for deletion of orders and everything, my company shot it down, ( i even had a 5 paragraph memo attached to it ) and that still wasnt "grounds" for deleting the orders, i mean shit,,, i have 3.5 more years left in the army, i been in for 4 already, deployed twice, i plan on moving right back to Illinois after my army time is up, so i dont get why they would shoot me there, its just money they gotta spend movin ALL MY SHIT back to Illinois from Texas. im waiting on branch to email me back with any new info they have, hopefully they have another idea.

                      uh huh, i hear, well, HEARD a lot about the "fun stuff" around there... Jaguars? that the place? overall, i hear nothin but good things about the base itself, very nice, clean, organized, but its mostly TRADOC,, which means i wont get to deploy anymore. as far as messin with training chicks, hm, idk... seems like a fun idea but i dont want to be THAT guy that gets caught up with a chick thats supposed to be in the barracks sleepin for the next day of her AIT lol.

                        Why couldnt you drive on the 165's? Mine were normal VW 165 tires and I drove year round.

                            to me, when i was home drivin it everyday, it just seemed like every little bump i hit was going to pop the tires, idk why but i just feel REALLY uncomfortable driving 25 hours straight on 165's goin 60-75 mph the whole way on rough sections of interstate, potholes, etc...

                              i have a huge list of shit i gota do to it while im on my 30 days leave, just to get it ready for september. 5 lug kit, 3.73's, 31 spline mosers, disc brakes all around and of course a bypass valve. to me, thats about 2 or 3 days worth of work at home.
