I always liked them."When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic." -Benjamin Franklin
"A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury." -Alexander Fraser Tytler

check the dates...FWIW some of the old ones from the 50s and earlier, IIRC, depending on condition, can go for anywhere between $12-$50...also depending on if you can find a collector."We, the people, are the rightful masters of both congress and the courts - not to overthrow the constitution, but to overthrow men who pervert the constitution." Abraham Lincoln

Silver certificate ones (in mint condition) are worth a bit more than face value...but not a lot.
The newer, non-silver certificate ones are only worth $2 and that's probably all they'll ever be worth.
I went through this after my father passed away. He had been keeping them for years and had accumulated 80 of them. I spent a couple of weeks checking and asking around and I ended up getting face value for the newer ones (72 of them) and I got between $3 and $5 each for the other 8."It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."
