It should affect all banks eventually. Chase was just the first to react to the legislation on the interchange fees.

Enjoy handling all that filthy cash. I'll stick to using the plastic.

Guess I need to start setting up my online bill pay instead of using my "rewards" card.

          BINGO!
The entitler and his boys really did everyone a solid didn't they?

This is total BS. Merchant fees for accepting cards are a giant kick in the balls for businesses. Same with rewards programs. Merchants pay for that shit (not your bank) with higher fees per transaction. If you own or work at a business that takes debit cards, you should tell your representatives to get involved to try to block this crap.

I use cash often, but I use plastic quite often...

but I NEVER run a card as debit... what's the point? get points and buyer protection if you're going to use plastic!

Fuck all of the big banks! Just a bunch of greedy, unethical assholes.

              Credit Unions, FTW!

A lot of people can just work around this, but it does suck a little bit. The wife and I solely use credit cards for rewards and such - then pay them off monthly. (generally speaking we use only credit, some places call for cash or debit cards)

However, not everyone is able to get decent credit cards for a variety of reasons.

I don't want to carry more then 50-100 in cash on a daily basis either.

Well, I received notice today that as of 07/19/11 they are going to kill the rewards program (Ultimate Rewards) altogether. Any points earned will not expire, but once they're spent it's done. No mention of spending limits in the included letter.
