The arresting officer also found Starr had a warrant out for his arrest. According to Utah court records, Starr was convicted in 3rd District Court in 2003 of felony drug possession. But a bench warrant was issued on Aug. 25, 2003 when he failed to appear for sentencing.

Starr was the bass player for Seattle rockers Alice in Chains from their formation in 1987 to 1993, when he left the band.

Despite having a warrant out for his arrest, Starr wasn't exactly in hiding. In 2010, Starr was in VH1's Celebrity Rehab program for heroin addiction. During the show's taping, he said he had been kicked out of Alice In Chains for drug abuse.

Are you counting Daisy as 2? If not, you should be.

Maybe that's why YOU loved the band. Jerry writes the songs and if that's not being the band, I don't know what is.

You are absolutely right, the writer of the song trumps the vocal talent every time.

If you know the difference between an artist and a performer it damn sure does. You obviously don't though.

Yup, I don't know shit, but I have an opinion, just as millions of others do, and most agree with me that Layne Staley was THE one that made the band SOUND the way it did, and that SOUND was what made them popular.

I haven't personally asked millions of people their opinion on Alice in Chains. It's crazy that you have. How long did that take?

EDIT: ...and by millions, do you mean like 2 or 3 million or hundreds of millions? Either way, your drive for self-satisfaction is impressive.

Lets see, go spend a few hours reading comments on any AiC video on youtube and see what the general consensus is there on who made the band popular. It might not be a legitimate poll, but it will give you the overall opinion of at least the people watching youtube. Quit being a Jerry Cantrell fanboy for a few minutes and you will see it.

Look at it this way, no Jerry Cantrell, no AiC. Actually there was an AiC before Jerry Cantrell but they sucked and Layne asked Jerry to join the band. Look it up.

Okay, you are right, that is the reason why their popularity soared and all of their new music sold better after Layne's death.

They are cheering and clapping as soon as Jerry starts playing - before anyone else walked out
