Do you also like the smell of your farts by any chance too?
I too have noticed a LOT of dead skunks. While the ones that are dead in a distance do not bother me smell wise, I had a recent not so pleasent encounter.
I was driving home the other day and noticed I was coming up on a dead skunk. Now usually, they have been dead a while and are not extremely potent from a distance. Not this one. I ran directly over that bastard with my air vents open and he must have just died cause the smell was horrid. I will never directly run over them again...
And when I say run over I do not mean with my tires, my vehicle went directly over the skunk. I don't need any peta calls.

SERIOUSLY- I was wondering the same thing!! There are two about 10 feet apart on our main street.. and about 8-9 skunks 15 feet apart from eachother on my way to work(down Blue Mound Rd.)
The scent of a skunk attracts other skunks during the skunky love season, a big pile dead skunks will put more scent in the air, attracting even more to that spot.

LMMFAO!!!! I had a damn good laugh at this one
Now, about the skunks... they're out of hibernation, and yes it's mating season. That's why they seem to be everywhere... the reason they're all dead is because with warmer days and cooler nights, they typically seek warmth by laying on sun warmed pavement / ground during the evening until *SMACK*
