  • A fallen hero comes home

Just a heads up for anyone who is interested, the Patriot Guard will be in Greenville tomorrow at Major's Field to welcome home the body of STAFF SGT. CHAUNCY R. MAYS (25) US ARMY. I'll be out there representing the Combat Vets Motorcycle Association, but if you have a bike, have nothing to do tomorrow and would like to pay your respects, here is your opportunity.

His family has requested that the PGR be present at his services. The Mission is a 'go' and all contacts have been made. Staff Sgt. Mays was KIA in Wardak Province Afghanistan of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device.

                PART 2:

This phase of the mission is headed up by the North Texas PGR.

This service is being help by friends and family in the Mount Pleasant area. THERE WILL BE A FLAG LINE SET UP AT THE FUNERAL HOME FOR OUR ARRIVAL. DAVE REINER WILL BE THERE WITH FLAGS.

Staging: at the Airport 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM with the Riders' Meeting at 11:45 AM. All new members are requested to sign a PGR Release of Liability prior to Flag Line. Please remain flexible as to the requirements of the mission (SEMPER GUMBY).

ALL GROUPS, CLUBS, INDEPENDENTS, ETC. ARE WELCOME. The only prerequisite is RESPECT. Also remember, you do not have to ride a motorcycle to join in. The flag line is open to all who wish to participate.

My EAS is tomorrow, or else is be down. By flag line do you mean like protest blocking flag line? Sorry if its a dumb question, just curious if you're worried about the westboro types coming out.

My condolences to the fallen and family.

Really hits home when he was 6 months younger than me.

Crap, if I didnt have something to do at that time I would be there. I dont think I can make the hour and a half trip in half an hour.

                          RIP Sgt.

wish i wasn't working tomorrow or i would be out on my bike supporting a fallen hero.
Life’s journey is not to arrive at the grave safely, in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting “Holy shit, what a ride!”

Well, there were about 100 to 150 bikes out today. It was a long ride and I had to break off going through Sulphur because my radiator fan went out on the bike, but it was an honor to ride behind the Staff Sargent
