The Houston Fire Department says the owner of the daycare where last week's heartbreaking fire killed four kids has escaped the country.
Jessica Tata, 22, is in Nigeria, HFD tells the Houston Chronicle.

Tata has been charged with reckless injury to a child involving serious bodily injury, but more charges can be added.

Investigators say Tata left the daycare while there was a pot containing oil being heated on an electric stove which, really, is the height of either stupidity or neglect.

HFD says they will seek assistance getting her back from Nigeria.

I hope the parents of those children call up some people in Nigeria to handle this. I'm sure General Butt Naked or some other warlord would make sure she would walk like a gay for the rest of her life or just kill her.

The wife and I just analyzed that. We understand she maybe in a bad place, but I'd never hold much against a person who asked family or friends to give them a break for a few hours. Or even put them in their crib for 20 minutes until they get their sanity back.

We can never sympathize with someone who put their kid in the oven. I'd guess the oven was off too and it heated slowly. First the heat, then probably hard to breath the hot air, then the grates getting hot. I hope there was some mercy and kid passed out before really burning alive. I mean, damn this just goes to show women can be way crueler then a man could ever be.

I also feel that a lot parents are probably too young to be parents, don't care enough to make their kids "good kids" and get beat down by little brats. Still, no excuse for something like this to happen.

It's believed the child may have been unconscious when put in the oven. There are signs of head trauma.

I hope he didn't suffer as bad as the situation was.
